Orbán's Second Government Inaugurated — Constitutional Revolution Begins
Viktor Orbán was inaugurated as Prime Minister on May 29, 2010, for his second term (having first served 1998–2002). Within weeks Fidesz announced sweeping constitutional changes using its two-thirds parliamentary majority. The government immediately began reshaping the electoral system, courts, and media landscape through supermajority legislation, launching what critics called a 'constitutional revolution' conducted through formally legal but substantively authoritarian means.
