Haiti General Customs Administration Seizes Three Drones, Ammunition, and Gang Equipment in May Operations
Haiti's General Customs Administration (AGD — Administration Générale des Douanes) announced on June 6, 2026 that May customs enforcement operations resulted in the seizure of three drones, substantial ammunition, communication radios, and bulletproof vests. The interceptions target gang supply chains that rely on smuggled drones and military-grade equipment entering Haiti through ports of entry and the Dominican border. Drones have become a critical dual-use technology in the Haiti conflict: HNP Task Force quadcopter drones — operated with support from the US-licensed private military contractor Vectus Global — have been used for offensive strikes against gang targets (BINUH Q1 2026 confirmed 69 civilian deaths from drone strikes in Q1 alone); while gangs use commercial and tactical drones for reconnaissance and coordination. The May seizures represent a logistics disruption effort complementing PNH's ongoing Village de Dieu offensive and the GSF's broader counter-gang operations. Communication radios and bulletproof vests are particularly important for gang operations — the equipment allows gang networks to coordinate across neighborhoods and reduces their vulnerability to security force encounters.
