Pardoned Teen Protester Saba Jikia Rejoins Tbilisi Demonstrations on Day 642
Saba Jikia, sentenced to four and a half years in prison for allegedly kicking a police officer during the November 2024 demonstrations and long treated as a symbol of the crackdown on young protesters, rejoined the daily rally outside Parliament and Tbilisi City Hall days after President Kavelashvili's Aug 27 Mariamoba pardon of 226 prisoners, including nine protest-related detainees. His return on the movement's 642nd consecutive day was celebrated by fellow demonstrators as a rare visible win after nearly two years of continuous, largely fruitless daily protest.
