Georgian Dream Files Lawsuit to Ban Three Main Opposition Parties

The ruling party petitioned the Constitutional Court to ban the United National Movement, Ahali (Coalition for Change) and Lelo for Georgia under Article 23 of the constitution, alleging they sought to overthrow constitutional order. Georgian Dream said it might also pursue bans against smaller parties including Droa, Girchi – More Freedom, Strategy Aghmashenebeli, European Georgia, the Federalists and the Republicans. Parliament's speaker said a ruling could come by mid-2026.
