Four Opposition Figures Jailed for Boycotting Parliamentary Commission

Giorgi Vashadze, Zurab Japaridze, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze were sentenced to seven-to-eight months in prison and barred from public office for two years after refusing to appear before a Georgian Dream-created parliamentary commission investigating the pre-2012 Saakashvili era. Amnesty International called it a deepening crackdown on government critics.
