Georgian Dream Declared Winner of Disputed Parliamentary Election
The Central Election Commission declared Georgian Dream the winner with nearly 54% of the vote. OSCE/ODIHR observers and independent monitors reported a large-scale, multi-faceted rigging scheme including voter intimidation, vote-buying, compromised ballot secrecy and multiple voting. President Salome Zourabichvili and the opposition refused to recognize the result, alleging massive fraud and Russian interference.
