Imad Aslim, deputy commander of Hamas's Gaza City Brigade and commander of its Zeitoun Battalion, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on May 28, 2026 (Day 960). The Times of Israel reported the killing and noted that Izz ad-Din Beck, commander of Hamas's Northern Gaza Brigade, was also reportedly present at the targeted site. Aslim's funeral was held in Gaza City on May 29.
