Second Ceasefire Takes Effect — All Remaining Hostages Released

A second ceasefire between Israel and Hamas takes effect on October 10, 2025, brokered again by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States. All 20 remaining living Israeli captives are released on October 13, 2025 in exchange for 250 Palestinian prisoners and 1,700 Palestinians who had 'disappeared' into Israeli detention. Israel also returns 28 bodies of deceased hostages for 360 Palestinian bodies. All hostages are accounted for by January 26, 2026.
