Inertia Opens 50,000-Sq-Ft Livermore HQ — World's First Fusion Fuel Target Factory

| Fusion Energy

Inertia Enterprises opened a new 50,000-square-foot headquarters in Livermore, California on July 10, 2026, housing what the company calls the world's first fusion fuel target factory alongside a high-precision metrology facility and a high-energy laser system. Inertia is commercializing the inertial confinement fusion (ICF) breakthroughs proven at nearby Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's National Ignition Facility, developing rapid, high-tolerance fabrication methods for fuel capsules at the scale a power plant would require. Both the target manufacturing lab and metrology facility began operating in late 2025 and are advancing rapidly at the new site; the company plans to convert the full facility into an end-to-end fuel-capsule production line by 2027. U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren toured the campus shortly after opening. Inertia's roadmap targets a power plant groundbreaking by 2030 and fusion power production by 2035.
