Pernod Ricard–Brown-Forman Merger Talks Collapse

French spirits giant Pernod Ricard and American firm Brown-Forman (owner of Jack Daniel's whisky) announced the failure of merger discussions. The potential deal, which would have created one of the world's largest spirits companies, collapsed amid unspecified disagreements. Pernod Ricard, home to brands including Absolut, Jameson, and Chivas Regal, had been in talks with the Louisville-based group.
