Macron Elected — Youngest President in French History

Emmanuel Macron, 39, defeats Marine Le Pen (RN) 66.1% to 33.9% in the second round, becoming the youngest president in French history and the first elected without backing of traditional parties (he founded En Marche! only 14 months earlier). Macron governs with a centrist, pro-European agenda, implementing labor market and pension reforms while navigating the gilets jaunes crisis and rising far-right electoral support.
