Sisi and Foreign Minister Reaffirm Diplomacy on Ethiopia's Dam, Cite $20 Billion in Suez Canal Losses

Sisi said Egypt will keep prioritizing diplomacy over Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam but that this would not come at the expense of Egypt's existence and its people. Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty called water security a matter of life or death and said Egypt will not accept additional dams or unilateral measures. Sisi also said Egypt has lost about $20 billion in Suez Canal revenue to regional instability.
