President Sisi Leads Eid Al-Adha Prayers at New Administrative Capital; Holiday Runs May 27–29

The occasion marked Sisi's continued symbolic use of the New Administrative Capital as the political center of his presidency; major state ceremonies including Eid prayers have been held at its flagship mosque since the capital began hosting official functions. Eid Al-Adha marks the conclusion of the Hajj pilgrimage season, an occasion of particular religious and national significance for Egypt, home to al-Azhar University — Islam's oldest continuous institution of learning.
