US Designates Los Choneros and Los Lobos as Foreign Terrorist Organizations

Secretary of State Marco Rubio designates Los Choneros and Los Lobos as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists, citing their links to the Sinaloa Cartel and Jalisco New Generation Cartel and their targeting of officials, judges, prosecutors and journalists. The designation opens the door to expanded US military and law-enforcement action against the groups.
