DRC Files Case Against Rwanda at the ICJ

Kinshasa lodged a case at the International Court of Justice accusing Rwanda of responsibility for more than 30 years of atrocities in eastern DRC — massacres, sexual violence, torture and forced displacement — alleging breaches of the Genocide Convention and other treaties. The court rejected Rwanda's jurisdictional challenge the same day and ruled the case admissible, sending it to the merits phase.
