De la Espriella's Security Council Concludes, Announces Permanent Measures for Santa Marta

President Abelardo de la Espriella's security council in Santa Marta concluded on September 26, 2026, following the end of the ACSN's armed strike in Magdalena and La Guajira. The government announced a package of measures for Santa Marta, Ciénaga and the Troncal del Caribe corridor: increased public-force presence, land controls, joint military-police patrols, aerial surveillance, and intelligence operations targeting drug trafficking, extortion, money laundering, and the support networks of the ACSN and other criminal structures operating in the department.
