Bogotá Judge Orders Ministry of Defense to Disclose Full Presidential Flight Records

Bogotá's Ninth Specialized Criminal Circuit Court ruled that the Ministry of Defense, led by retired General Jorge Eduardo Mora, had violated the rights of Pacto Histórico Representative José Luis Bohórquez López by supplying only partial flight records (Aug 7–24) in response to his request, and ordered complete disclosure — including the August 25–September 8 window — within 48 hours. Bohórquez's initial data found roughly COP 1.117 billion (≈US$353,500) spent on presidential flights across just 18 days, including 36 helicopter flights under six minutes connecting a Barranquilla sports facility to the airport. The ruling escalated a transparency fight over de la Espriella's travel costs one month into his term; as of September 19 the government had not issued a detailed response to the disclosed figures.
