National Intelligence Law Enacted — Backdoor Fears Emerge
China enacts the National Intelligence Law, legally obligating Chinese citizens and companies to 'support, assist, and cooperate' with national intelligence operations. Article 7 becomes the central basis for Western government concerns about Huawei equipment, TikTok data, and other Chinese technology platforms. The law reinforces existing Cybersecurity Law requirements for data localization and government access.
