INE: July CPI Rises Just 0.1%, Annual Inflation Eases to 3.5%

| Chile

Chile's National Statistics Institute (INE) reported the Consumer Price Index rose 0.1% in July 2026 — below the 0.2% market consensus — bringing year-to-date inflation to 2.9% and twelve-month inflation down to 3.5% from 4.3% in June. Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+0.7%) and housing and basic services (+0.7%) posted the largest monthly increases, while transport fell 3.5%. Finance Minister Mario Marcel said the reading kept Chile on track for inflation near the Central Bank's 3% target by early 2026, reinforcing expectations the Central Bank could continue easing its benchmark rate later in the year.
