Police Move 864 Migrants From Loma Colmenar Streets to New Los Rosales Shelter

Spanish police transferred 864 migrants who had been sleeping outdoors in the Loma Colmenar area to a newly conditioned temporary facility of tents next to the former Los Rosales prison, on SEPES-owned land transferred by the Housing Ministry. Migration Minister Elma Saiz coordinated the operation, which the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration called 'a humanitarian operation' carried out with migrants' voluntary agreement. The government also plans a separate facility near the Sidi Embarek Mosque for 300+ women with children, bringing Ceuta's temporary accommodation capacity to roughly 4,300 places, with a target of over 6,000 in the coming days.
