Poll: Only 14.2% Approve of Sánchez's Handling of the Ceuta Crisis
A 40dB poll of 2,000 people for El País and Cadena SER finds just 14.2% of Spaniards rate PM Pedro Sánchez's handling of the Ceuta crisis positively, with two-thirds saying the government's response was too slow. Nearly nine in ten respondents blame Morocco for the July 30-31 mass crossing, and 82% back increasing fences and surveillance at Spain's borders, with seven in ten preferring tighter border controls over migrant-protection measures. The poll also records combined voting intentions for the conservative Partido Popular and far-right Vox reaching 50.2% — the first time the potential right-wing bloc has broken 50% in this legislature.
