At Current Pace, Relocating Ceuta's 2,678 Migrant Minors Would Take Nearly Four Years

A government-commissioned analysis finds Ceuta would need almost four years to relocate its roughly 2,678 unaccompanied migrant minors (1,478 already registered, an estimated 1,200 more still on the street) via the ordinary transfer procedure, at the current pace of about 60 transfers per month (720 relocated to the mainland since the crisis began). Ceuta itself has capacity for only 29 minors. The Ministry of Childhood, led by Sira Rego, is pressing Spain's autonomous communities for an 'extraordinary' redistribution, warning the city 'will not return to normalcy before 2029' without one; several PP-governed regions have resisted accepting transfers.
