| CDMX

Multiple mobilizations converged on central Mexico City on Monday, August 17, concentrated in Cuauhtémoc, Gustavo A. Madero, Iztacalco, Benito Juárez, Venustiano Carranza, and Miguel Hidalgo. Groups included a march for the rights of homeless people, a protest by applicants rejected from UNAM admission, a demonstration by IPN retirees, and a concentration of oil workers, culminating in a 10:00 a.m. gathering at the Plaza de la Constitución (Zócalo) in the Centro Histórico. Authorities warned of significant traffic disruption along the Tlatelolco-to-Zócalo corridor as a result of the combined blockades and marches.
