BTS Sweeps 52nd American Music Awards — Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer & Best Male K-Pop Artist
BTS sweeps all three of their nominations at the 52nd American Music Awards held on May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, hosted by Queen Latifah and broadcast live on CBS. They win Artist of the Year (their second win in that category, defeating Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga), Song of the Summer for 'SWIM', and Best Male K-Pop Artist. BTS also opened the ceremony performing 'Hooligan' and presented SZA with the Best Female R&B Artist award. The triple-sweep brings their total AMA win count to 14, extending their record as the most decorated act in AMA history. This is BTS's first US televised awards ceremony as a full group in approximately four years, converging with their sold-out ARIRANG World Tour residency at Allegiant Stadium — also in Las Vegas. The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard described the evening as a defining moment in BTS's global comeback, with social media reaction breaking platform records in South Korea, the Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, Brazil, and the United States.
