ARIRANG World Tour Night 1 in Mexico City — 60,000+ Fans, Surprise Songs, Profeco Fines Ticketmaster
BTS opens the Latin American leg of the ARIRANG World Tour on May 7, 2026 at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City — their first Mexico City performances since the 2019 Speak Yourself tour. The show draws over 60,000 fans, running approximately 8:15 PM to 10:20 PM local time with fire, pyrotechnics, and a 360-degree in-the-round stage. The setlist blends ARIRANG album tracks ('Hooligan,' 'Aliens,' '2.0,' 'NORMAL,' 'Body to Body') with classic hits ('Not Today,' 'MIC Drop,' 'IDOL,' 'Butter,' 'Dynamite') and two surprise songs: 'Boy in Luv' (2014) and 'So What' (2020) — the first live performances of both in over four years. BTS addressed the crowd in Spanish, English, and Korean. However, Night 1 was also marred by controversy: videos showing empty seats inside the venue went viral alongside clips of ARMY fans gathered outside unable to enter. Mexico's consumer protection agency Profeco initiated fine proceedings of more than 5 million pesos (~$277,800 USD) against Ticketmaster México for alleged legal violations during the ticket sale process. StubHub and Viagogo were also cited. Billboard described the situation as BTS's tour becoming 'a state affair' in Mexico. The three-night Mexico City run (May 7, 9, 10) is projected to draw 136,000+ total fans and represents the largest single-city K-pop concert event in Latin American history.
