India's MEA Officially Confirms 18th BRICS Summit for September 12-13 in New Delhi

India's Ministry of External Affairs formally announced on August 27, 2026 that the 18th BRICS Summit will be held at the Bharat Mandapam convention centre in New Delhi on September 12-13, under the chairship theme 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.' MEA said the summit will bring together leaders of all 11 BRICS member states (Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, UAE) alongside invited partner and outreach countries, and noted India has held more than 350 preparatory meetings across 25 cities during its chairship year. At an August 28 press briefing, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated 'we have invited partner countries and outreach countries as well,' with security preparations underway for the visiting delegations. The summit marks India's fourth BRICS chairship (after 2012, 2016, 2021) and the bloc's 20th anniversary since founding.
