Mauritius Signs Artemis Accords — 70th Nation, 7th African Signatory
Mauritius became the 70th nation to join the Artemis Accords on July 17, 2026, during a signing ceremony in Ébène, Mauritius. Navindsing Jugmohunsing, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research, signed on behalf of Mauritius. NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson provided video remarks, while U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Sarah Troutman and U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Craig Halbmaier witnessed the signing. Mauritius is the seventh African nation to join the accords, coming one day after Serbia became the 69th signatory.
