Isaacman Announces Major Artemis Architecture Overhaul

| Artemis II

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman announced a sweeping restructuring of the Artemis program: Artemis III (now targeting 2027) redefined as a low-Earth orbit rendezvous and docking test — NOT a Moon landing; Artemis IV (targeting 2028) designated as the first actual crewed lunar landing; at least one surface landing per year thereafter. The Lunar Gateway was cancelled from early Artemis architecture. Both SpaceX and Blue Origin concurred with the new approach. Congressional stakeholders were briefed and expressed support.
