López Obrador Resurfaces in Video to Present Book 'Pueblo'
On Sept 30, 2026, a day before the second anniversary of the end of his term, former president López Obrador released a video from his Palenque estate presenting his new book 'Pueblo', which he said completes the theory of 'Humanismo Mexicano' begun in 'Grandeza'. He defended the Fourth Transformation's record, criticized U.S. ambassadors' pressure on Mexican governments, backed President Sheinbaum's handling of the USMCA review, and said he is happy in retirement and not a 'caudillo'. The video came amid reports and pressure aimed at his son Andrés Manuel López Beltrán. Claims in the video, such as an alleged secret 2000 Zedillo–Clinton deal, are his own assertions.
