Tren Maya Freight Network Passes 54% Completion
SEDENA reported the Tren Maya cargo (freight) network — a complement to the AMLO-era passenger line — had reached 54.05% physical completion. Four freight complexes are under construction in Palenque, Poxilá, Progreso, and Cancún, totaling 101 km of internal track across eight work fronts and roughly 13,700 jobs generated. The Cancún terminal alone represents a 7.78 billion peso investment. All four complexes and the Progreso rail connection are targeted for completion by the end of 2026.
