Twelve US Health Systems Form Diagnostic AI Consortium with Aidoc to Standardize Clinical AI Evaluation

Twelve major US health systems — Advocate Health, Cedars-Sinai Health System, Hartford Healthcare, Houston Methodist, Mercy, Mount Sinai Health System, Northwell Health, Northwestern Medicine, Sutter Health, University of Florida Health, University Hospitals of Cleveland, and WellSpan Health — announced on August 11, 2026 that they are forming the Diagnostic AI Consortium with clinical AI company Aidoc. The consortium, which collectively serves nearly 20 million patients annually and expects to expand further, will co-design AI-enabled diagnostic workflows to prioritize cases and accelerate interpretation, measure the impact on safety, quality, and speed to diagnosis across member sites, and develop shared implementation and governance practices intended to scale beyond the founding members. Aidoc will provide technical infrastructure through its Clinical AI Reasoning Engine (CARE) foundation model and aiOS enterprise AI operating system. Aidoc CEO Elad Walach said holding the consortium to shared evaluation and governance standards is 'how we earn the right to scale it,' while University Hospitals' Dr. Leonardo Kayat Bittencourt noted 'no single center can capture the diversity needed to build models that generalize safely at the scale the world needs.' The consortium plans to share its first results in 2027.
