ITU Robotics for Good Youth Challenge Egypt — AI Innovation Hub for North African Youth

| AI for Good

The ITU Robotics for Good Youth Challenge came to Egypt on April 19, convening young innovators in one of Africa's largest and most influential technology markets. Egypt has been positioning itself as a regional AI hub, with national AI strategy investments and a large youth population (60% under 30) representing an enormous potential AI talent base. Participants engaged with AI-powered robotics challenges focused on agriculture, healthcare access, and climate adaptation — problems Egypt faces acutely with its Nile Delta food security pressures, rapidly growing urban population, and water scarcity. The challenge connects Egyptian youth to ITU's global AI for Good network and provides pathways to the main AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva in July 2026, where youth innovators from across the Global South present solutions to international audiences.
