Pakistan CTD Kills ISKP Commander Imran, Alleged Mastermind of February Islamabad Imambargah Bombing, in Peshawar Raid

Pakistan's Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) killed five Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) militants, including senior commander Imran — alias Abdullah, Bilal and Abu Bakar, son of Dilawar Khan from Tarkho Katkoot in Bajaur district — in a raid near the Shamshatoo refugee camp in Urmur village, roughly 25 km southeast of Peshawar, on the night of Thursday, September 10, 2026. CTD officials said Imran was a proclaimed offender wanted in some 20 terrorism cases and identified him as the alleged mastermind behind the February 6, 2026 suicide bombing at Imambargah Khadijah al-Kubra in Islamabad that killed 32 people, as well as IED and vehicle-borne IED attacks and targeted killings of police officers and political figures, including Senator Hidayatullah. Officials said the operation was launched after intelligence indicated the cell was planning attacks on sensitive institutions, imambargahs and churches. Security forces recovered a submachine gun, four pistols, two hand grenades, a locally made IED, five magazines and ammunition at the scene.
