Pakistan Announces Cumulative Operation Toll: 796 Taliban Killed, 286 Checkposts Destroyed

Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced updated cumulative operational figures for Operation Ghazab-il-Haq as of April 5: 796 Afghan Taliban fighters killed and 1,043+ wounded since the operation's launch. 286 Taliban checkposts had been destroyed and 44 captured. Pakistan claimed 249 tanks, armored vehicles, artillery guns, and drones had been neutralized. A total of 81 locations across Afghanistan had been targeted by airstrikes since the operation began in late February. Afghan Taliban officials disputed the figures, asserting Pakistan's casualty claims were massively inflated and that actual military losses were far lower, while civilian casualties were far higher than Pakistan admitted.
