US Strikes MSF Hospital in Kunduz — 42 Killed

| Afghanistan War

A US AC-130 gunship repeatedly strikes the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) hospital in Kunduz over more than an hour, killing 42 people including 14 MSF staff and 24 patients. MSF had provided the coordinates to US and Afghan military before the strike. The attack is ultimately attributed to human and technical error by a US military investigation. MSF calls it a war crime.
