Atlantic Charter — Roosevelt and Churchill Define War Aims
Churchill and Roosevelt met aboard warships off Newfoundland and issued the Atlantic Charter, outlining Allied war aims: no territorial aggrandizement, self-determination of peoples, freedom from fear and want, and freedom of the seas. The Charter became the foundation for the United Nations and post-war international order.
