FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola Reaches Calgary's Saddledome — Second Stop on Seven-City Canadian Run

| World Cup 2026

The original FIFA World Cup Trophy — the 6.175-kilogram, 18-karat gold Jules Rimet-era replacement trophy first awarded in 1974 — arrived at Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome on April 12, 2026 (Sunday), the second stop on the Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola's Canadian leg. The trophy was unveiled in Vancouver on April 9 by former Italy captain and 2006 World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro at a ceremony at the Vancouver Art Gallery, before public display continued through April 11. Calgary marks the first Canadian Prairie stop; the trophy will continue to Winnipeg on April 13 before returning for eastern Canadian dates: Montreal (May 22), Halifax (May 23), Ottawa (May 24), and Toronto (May 25–26). The Canadian leg runs April 9 through May 26, offering fans the chance to see the original trophy in seven cities across six time zones. The tour is integrated into FIFA's 'Canada Celebrates' programme — announced April 9 — which spans 38 stops in 34 communities and will bring 75% of Canadians within a two-hour drive of a World Cup event. The tour follows a broader North American itinerary; the trophy has already toured US host cities ahead of the FIFA Congress in Vancouver on April 30. Co-host Canada has two match venues: BMO Field in Toronto and BC Place in Vancouver, with 60 days to the June 11 opening match.
