Iraq National Team Arrives in Monterrey via Amman Charter — Logistics Battle Before March 31 Final

| World Cup 2026

Iraq's national football team arrived in Monterrey on March 25 via a chartered flight from Amman, Jordan, after traveling overland from Baghdad to avoid airspace disrupted by the ongoing Iran-US-Israel regional conflict. Iraq had traveled from Baghdad to Jordan on March 21 after direct flights to Mexico from Baghdad were unavailable. The intercontinental bypass through Amman added approximately 36 hours to the team's travel schedule ahead of the March 31 final against Bolivia at Estadio BBVA. Iraq coach Radhi Shenaishil called the travel arrangements 'a testament to the team's dedication' and confirmed all squad members were fit after a rest period in Amman.
