US Doubles Steel and Aluminum Tariffs to 50%

Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum imports doubled from 25% to 50%, excluding the UK. Canada, the largest US supplier of both metals, warned the tariffs would make the American market 'essentially inaccessible' and threaten roughly 23,000 steel and 9,500 aluminum jobs.
