Artemis II Flight Day 8 — Crew on Final Return Leg; Splashdown Now April 10

| United States

On April 8, the Artemis II crew was on Flight Day 8 of their return journey from the Moon. The crew conducted trajectory correction burns, tested Orion's attitude control systems, and participated in a ship-to-ship communication call with the ISS Expedition 74 crew. The planned splashdown date was refined to Friday, April 10, 2026 — one day earlier than the April 11 estimate — in the Pacific Ocean off San Diego. Crew members Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch (NASA), and Jeremy Hansen (CSA) continued in-flight procedures for radiation mitigation on the return trajectory.
