Russian Strikes Kill 6, Injure 56 Nationwide Including Fatal Odesa Attack

Beyond the daytime SBU headquarters strike, Russian attacks killed at least six people and injured at least 56 others across Ukraine in the 24 hours to September 4, Ukrainian authorities said. An overnight strike on Odesa killed one person and injured at least three, damaging residential buildings and cars, regional administration head Serhii Lysak said. Other casualties were reported in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (2 police officers killed, 1 hospitalized, 5 civilians injured), Dnipro city (1 killed, 9 injured), Kherson Oblast (1 killed, 8 injured), Zaporizhzhia Oblast (1 killed, 4 injured, with 890 artillery, drone, and air strikes recorded across 49 settlements), Kharkiv Oblast (4 injured), Donetsk Oblast (5 wounded), and Sumy Oblast (2 injured). Russia launched 121 Shahed-type attack drones overnight, about half of them jet-powered variants; Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 103 of the drones and munitions.
