Overnight June 5–6, 2026 (Day 1,563), Russia launched 272 Shahed-type kamikaze drones across Ukraine; Ukrainian air defense destroyed 249 of them. Impacts were confirmed at 11 locations. Key strikes included: the port infrastructure in Odessa; the Kryvorizka thermal power plant in Zelenodolsk (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast); the Zaporizhzhia Machine-Building Plant; Zaporizhzhia city, where a drone strike sparked a parking-lot fire and 7 people sought medical care; Sumy region, where guided aerial bombs killed one man; and Dnipropetrovsk region (1 killed, 3 wounded). During the daytime of June 6, Russia launched 46 additional airstrikes with 134 guided aerial bombs and 6,064 kamikaze drones, and conducted 2,445 artillery strikes. A total of 183 combat collisions were recorded. The Pokrovsk direction saw 26 Russian attacks. Russian MoD claimed control of Shevchenko village in Kharkiv region. The overnight attack followed the pattern of Russia's sustained aerial-terror campaign against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and industrial targets.
