Overnight into May 20, 2026 (Day 1,546 of the full-scale invasion), Russia launched 116 Shahed-type loitering munitions against Ukraine. Ukraine's air force intercepted 109 of the 116 drones — a 94% interception rate — but 7 drones broke through air defenses and caused damage in multiple regions. In the Kharkiv region, the Chuhuiv community was struck, damaging infrastructure and injuring at least one civilian.
