Russian Attacks Kill 14+ Across Kharkiv (3), Donetsk (5), and Kherson (6) Regions — Day 1,560

| Ukraine War

On June 3, 2026 — Day 1,560 of Russia's full-scale invasion — Russian forces continued their sustained campaign of strikes against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and populated areas across multiple regions. In Kharkiv Oblast, Kharkiv city and 17 other settlements came under Russian attack; at least 3 civilians were killed. The attacks continued Russia's pattern of targeting Ukraine's second-largest city with guided aerial bombs and drones, which has now resulted in more than 20 strikes on Kharkiv in April–June 2026 alone. In Donetsk Oblast, Russian strikes killed 5 residents and wounded 11 — attacks concentrated around frontline communities still under Ukrainian control. In Kherson Oblast, 6 people were killed and 26 injured, including a child, from Russian strikes over the preceding 24 hours. Kherson Oblast continues to face daily Russian attacks across the Dnipro River from Russian-controlled positions on the eastern bank. The combined toll of at least 14 killed across three regions on June 3 underscores Russia's sustained attritional campaign targeting both frontline and rear areas of Ukraine. ISW's June 3 assessment noted that Russian forces failed in their attempt to encircle Lyman and advance on Slovyansk, with the Russian Summer 2026 offensive described as exceedingly unlikely to achieve significant gains in the Slovyansk direction.
