On May 25, 2026 — Day 1,551 of Russia's full-scale invasion — Russian forces launched a new wave of missiles and drones targeting Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions, continuing the aerial campaign that began with the massive May 23–24 barrage. A ballistic missile struck a medical clinic in Dnipro, killing at least 2 people and injuring over 30, including two boys aged 3 and 6. In Pavlohrad (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast), a separate Russian drone struck a multi-story residential building, killing 5 people including a child. In Kharkiv, an oil depot was struck twice by Russian kamikaze drones; 18 people were injured across the Kharkiv region, including a 5-year-old child; the town of Derhachi was also hit by a missile. Russian forces struck 49 settlements in Sumy region, killing 1 man and injuring 4 others; a drone attack on a civilian car killed a 24-year-old man in the Krasnopillia community. In Kyiv, drone fragments damaged houses and cars. Ukraine's air defenses shot down 17 missiles and 31 drones, with 246 of 262 total drones in the combined May 24–25 wave neutralized. The strikes intensified international condemnation following Russia's use of the Oreshnik IRBM on May 24.
