Russia Hits Odesa Maternity Hospital with 60+ Drone Attack; At Least 2 Killed, 11 Injured

Russia launched 273 drones against Ukraine overnight on March 27–28, 2026, with more than 60 targeting the Black Sea port city of Odesa. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 252 of the 273 drones. Odesa was hardest hit: a maternity hospital roof was struck in the Prymorskyi district (staff and patients evacuated in time); three educational institutions were damaged; and apartment buildings sustained structural damage. At least 2 people were killed (a second body was recovered from rubble after 9 a.m.) and 11 were injured, including a 9-year-old boy. Emergency services evacuated 81 residents. Russia also struck Chernihiv Oblast 34 times over 24 hours, killing a 95-year-old man and damaging grain storage and energy facilities; Naftogaz facilities in Poltava were attacked for a third consecutive day, killing one employee; and Kryvyi Rih industrial and energy infrastructure was struck. Total nationwide: at least 5 killed, 15+ wounded overnight.
