Ex-MASAK Chiefs to Testify in Probe Into Alleged FETÖ Infiltration of Financial Intelligence Unit

Justice Minister Akın Gürlek said three former heads of Turkey's Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) — Mürsel Ali Kaplan, İbrahim Hakkı Polat and Osman Dereli — will testify September 28 in a probe alleging FETÖ-linked infiltration of MASAK's financial-intelligence system between 2012 and 2018. Investigators found a safeguard blocking searches on politically exposed persons had been disabled, after which records tied to Erdoğan, his relatives and government ministers were queried; authorities issued detention warrants for 22 suspects, including a former MASAK deputy chairman, and seized two Ankara-based software firms.
