Türkiye Delivers First-Ever Warship Export to a NATO/EU Member — Romania

Türkiye handed over the offshore patrol vessel "CAM Roman" (TCG Akhisar-class) to the Romanian Naval Forces at a ceremony at Istanbul Shipyard Command on June 20, 2026 — the first time Türkiye has exported a domestically built warship to a NATO and EU member state. President Erdoğan met Romanian President Nicușor Dan afterward, calling the deal a milestone for Turkish defense industry: the vessel's combat management systems, radar, sonar and close-in weapon systems were built by ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN and TÜBİTAK.
