Erdoğan Receives Saudi FM Prince Faisal bin Farhan in Ankara

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in Ankara to review bilateral relations and discuss strengthening cooperation in support of regional security and stability. The meeting reflects the normalization of Saudi-Turkey relations following years of tension after the 2018 murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul, which had caused a diplomatic rupture. Saudi-Turkish relations were formally restored in 2023. The two nations share interests in Syria's post-Assad transition, Palestinian statehood advocacy, and investment ties. Turkey is seeking Saudi investment to support its economic stabilization program, while Saudi Arabia has been expanding strategic partnerships across the region.
