Thailand Formally Withdraws From MOU 44
The Thai Cabinet authorizes unilateral withdrawal from the 2001 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU 44) governing joint maritime boundary and oil/gas talks with Cambodia -- a campaign pledge PM Anutin fulfills after the February election. Cambodia calls it counter to the deal's original spirit and signals it will pursue compulsory UNCLOS conciliation.
